What am I Thankful for....

health for myself, richard and my kids, simon and jared

that I live in a war free country

that i am able to work which provides me the things like my home, cars, scrapbook supplies.

that i am able to freely worship at my church with no threat of persecution

that i belong to a loving family - 2 brothers that i love very much

that my mom, dad and mom-in-law continue to have health

that i continue to cherish my husband as if i just met him

that my husband shows me daily that he loves me

that i have a husband who helps around the house and does just as much cleaning as i do

that i have a group of scrapbook friends that i just adore and who help me get thru the rough patches of life

that my scrapbooking is growing and i am able to branch out and try new things

that my children are getting older and i just love the age they are at now

may all of you have a wonderful thanksgiving and that we all take a moment to appreciate what a great life we all have despite when things get hard.

Great Day

What an absolutely wonderful day I had yesterday!! And it is all thanks to one of my friends' husband, Doug.
He went to an auction and put a bid in on a scrapbooking class/chocloate fondue/wine party!! It was wonderful...I hardly have words to describe. We made this great CD Album (as soon as I finish it I will post some pics of it) and while we were making the album, there was wine to be had and this great assortment of fruits and yummies to dip into our chocolate fondue.
The picture you see above is of Kelly and Kim - the owners of The Paper Pickle in Chatham, Ontario. This is where our class was held. Kim and Kelly have a wonderful store and they are fantastic hostesses as well. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. And their store is so lovely.
I was joined by Karen, Sheri, Janet and Judy S. We always have so much fun when we are together! It is great to have girl power in your life. Theses ladies are truly some the best women I have ever met. Thanks for a great day everyone!!!

I Forgot...

...How nice it is to come inside to a nice warm house after being on a football field watching a game!! It is COLD out there tonight under the lights of the field!! Bundled in a blanket and hood up with mittens on. It felt great and it is what football season is all about. You know when I started this I did not think I would enjoy this part of football season but it was great tonight watching these 9 year olds playing with all the heart they had in them It is so much fun to be around and makes you feel young again.
I have wind burn on my cheeks as I sit here with my computer and a cup of warm decaf chai tea!!

Off now to watch the new series called "The Nine". sounds intriguing.

Feeling better...

It has been a crazy couple of days and I won't bore you with the details...but I am feeling much better now!!!Just posted my new slide show and feel very accomplished about that. I think it looks great!!!
Well I am off to my scrap room to do some DT projects!! Also need to iron a uniform for work for the morning!!

Have You Ever...

Worn braces? No I have not!!

Broken a bone? No I have not!!

Had stitches? Yes...was out shopping for a car and got my thumb caught in the car door when the salesmen slammed the door shut just after telling him that I did not like that car. Coincidence I hoped!!!

Gone SCUBA diving? No thank you!!!

Been stung by a bee? NO but stung by a hornet. Same thing I guess. Not allergic either, Thank God!!!

Thrown up in public? Ashamed to say yes...but not willing to give details. Much to graphic...Need I say more!!!!

Been to overnight camp? As a child yes...went to many camps as a Girl guide when I was younger. Not as an adult!!

Written a letter to Santa Claus? Yes and totally believed he would recieve it...Totally heartbroken when I found out there was no Santa

Been sent to the principal's office? Yes I have been and was slapped on the back of the hand with a leather strap as well...cheated on a multiplication quiz. First and Last time I did that!!!

Who/What was the last...Person to call you? A friend of mine Christine called; but she actually meant to call another number. So then we chatted about her new puppy!!

Last person you hugged? My son Jared as he went off to school this morning!!

Thing you touched (before your keyboard!!)? Picked up my glasses...can't see without them!!

Thing you ate? Yogurt this morning for breakfast

Thing you said? Yelled goodbye to the boys as they were driving off on their bikes for school!!

What makes you happy??? I mean REALLY happy???
I guess I am a little reflective today because my spirits are not so high today!!!
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Simon's birthday but it was so busy!!! Hardly time to breath. And I need time to breath!!! It is all getting to be so rushed!!! I love the quiet time...the alone time...the scrapping time!!
I am HAPPY but so tired keeping happy sometimes. I do so look forward to the days when everyone goes off to work and school. Don't get me wrong, please; I love them all but it just gets so noisy around here sometimes with all the plans and the goings' on. I can hardly wait sometimes for Monday morning when it is quiet again!!!
I should really scrapbook this because as many happy times as there are...we must also remember that there are days when we just don't feel great about how much there is to be done and how busy life can be. I must sound like such a whine...I don't mean to be but I guess everything just weighing a little heavy on the shoulders today.
Okay Judy, it is time to Buck Up!!!! (as Janet would say). Get off your butt and get to the things that need to be done. The more I type the less work that gets done today!!!

SO LONG...

Since I posted last. I feel that I have not had enough time to even breath lately. But today I am at work and am having a quiet moment and thought today is the day!! I need to post before the weekend starts and I forget to post again!!

It has been busy with us all. Getting right back into school and all that entails. It actually has not been that bad yet!!! The kids have a fair amount of homework but not totally overwhelming! Thank goodness. I am sure that it will become more heavy as the semester continues...but for now I am enjoying the lull.

Richard and I are preparing for the finals of Jared's Football season and the beginning of Simon's Basketball tryouts and travelling over the winter. With Richard being the coach, and myself taking on the job of Parent rep this season - It makes for a busy fall. It is so much fun seeing the joy of them both getting ready for their practices and games. They love it and it makes it so easy to participate when you see their pleasure!!

I have been thoroughly enjoying the new TV season. So many good shows this year. My favs are Grey' s, Survivor, ER, The Amazing Race, and the new ones called Smith and Vanished.
I have a TV in my scrapbooking room and it is so easy to kill two birds with one stone. Watch my TV shows and scrapbook at the same time.

Anyway enough about my life and how busy and wonderful it is all at the same time---I am at work and need to get back to it. Take care and we will chat soon!!!

WELL, WELL, WELL

Yesterday I did lots of cleaning and got my house decorated for fall. Its looks so pretty here now. Will it stay that way is the challenge. Who cares if it does...one could say my house is definitely lived in!!

I think I am finally over this cold I had. A lingering cough, but for the most part it is gone. Thank God!!! Now that I am well I feel energy to do lots of stuff!! So what will I do today. I have done so much scrapbooking lately that my house was really becoming neglected. So, today I think I will get that pile of laundry completed and take care of some paper work!! Banking, school forms etc.

Simon leaves on his class trip today and is so excted. He helped me pack his clothes last night. He was so cute - he wanted to pack each days clothes (pants, shirt, underwear, and socks) in a grocery bag and then place it in his backpack so that he can just grab that and not have to look for anything in his bag. I thought that was so cute. He also wanted a camera - how adorable. He said he wanted memories like the family has with our pictures. How cute is that. Anyway, just made them a breakfast of french toast and eggs as a special breakfast before his trip. It is so funny - he is almost bubbling over he is so excited!!!

I remember the joy of doing special things with your class. It is such a special time - Although I wish I felt more that way when I was 10. The innocence and exuberence of youth gets lost on us as adults - Don't you think? I think that is why I love scrapbooking so much...When I get together with my scrapbooking buddies, I feel like a kid again and sometimes I even get giddy from the excitement of getting together. It is a wonderful feeling!!

Anyway, off to finish my coffee and drive the kids over to school.

NORMAL DAY...

Well, here we go!!! A full day of cleaning!!! OH JOY!!!
I hate housework. There; I admit it. I must be a terrible Mom and housewife. I hate it!! It is the worse job that there could be. I am not one of these mothers that has everything perfect wihen the kids come home from school and I definitely don't have hubby's slippers waiting for him when he gets home from work!!
From folding and ironing to washing those toilets (three men in the house-need I say more)!! anyway enough about my groaning!!!

Today I also have to help my oldest son, Simon pack up for a class trip to the Tim Hortons camp close to our home. It is meant to be a spirit building trip for the Grade 5 and 6 classes of Hillcrest. he is so excited. We got the schedule yesterday and he will be rock climbing, glass making and hiking through the wetlands! He is fairly pumped about the whole thing. It seems like a really great idea.

I got all my projects done for the design team...finished them up last night. I had to use the new Cosmo Cricket Paper-Wanted. It was fantastic to work with!! JUST WON'T GO AWAY

I don't know why...But this lousy cold will not go away!! I have slept more in the last three days than I do in a week's worth of sleep and it still won't go away. Anyone have any suggestions. I tried everything....Sudafed, Tylenol, hot baths, Vicks vaporub; the whole kit and kaboodle!! But nothing works!! I have not had a cold in a very long time..so I guess it is my turn for a full blown cold!!!

Anyway, Survivor started last night. It's going to be a good one. The tribe members were a little shocked by the division of tribes. or at least some of them were. For the most part I think they feel that it really does not matter because there will be only a race issue if they choose to make it that and it will come down to who can survive the elements. A couple of them are starting to drive people crazy already!!! Makes for a long 39 days!! It will be interesting to see how it all plays out!!

NOT FEELING WELL...

Well, I have a nasty head cold...and everything else seems to suffer because of it!!! I was at work yesterday and it was bad. I could hardly concentrate. And the day seemed so loooooooong!! I was supposed to work today but took the day off sick. My head feels about twice the size of what it normally is!! Anyway enough about my woes!!

Aside from my illness, things are taking off for the design team. We had our first design team meeting and it was a lot of fun. For one thing it was my first online meeting in a chat room - first time I went to a meeting in my PJ's. Very relaxing I must say. So looking forward to getting our kits and designing some LO's for my monthly challenge. It is so exciting to be working with these wonderfully creative ladies..I do hope I get to meet them through this year.

The whole family has settled back into the routine of the school year - lunches, homework etc. You don't realize how much work it all is until you are back into the swing of things. Lots of organizational skills needed.

So, today I hope to veg and relax and try to get well. Lots of Sudafed and Neo Citran!!

Class at Simply Scrapping

I will be teaching this class at Simply Scrapping in Cambridge on November 30, 2006 from 6:30-8:30- P.M. We will be using the new Signature Suite paper line. Love this paper!! So nice to work with!! We will be using inking and some doodling as well.

CATCH UP

It has been several days sinced I blogged. It has been crazy around here with the beginning of school and getting things back into routine.
I started a new blog actually. The pink, older one was just not cutting it for me. So this new format is really working for me. I really like it. I am going to start adding some of my favourite websites and blogs to my lists. There will be some great sites, so please check them out.

The kids have been very quick to get back into the swing of things at school They looked so cute going back to school as you can tell in the picture!! I love them so much and I can hardly believe that they are going into grade 6 and grade 3. It only seems like yesterday that I was cradling them in my arms!!! But I also recognize growth is good and I do love the stage that they are in now!! They are independent and yet still want Mom around!!

I do have some wonderful news to share!! I made the design team for the Go Scrapping website!!!!! I am so happy!!! This is a wonderful company that does day and weekend crops in Southern Ontario from September to May every year. Our fearless leader is Karen Ellis and she has provided a very welcome service to a lot of scrapbookers in and around Southern Ontario. So, just a short month ago she put out a call for a design team and she picked 6 girls of which I am one. The website is www.goscrapping.ca - Please take a look-you won't be disappointed. Wonderful gallery and message board!! I am so looking forward to the year with Karen and my design team members. I hope to have their blogs on my links list soon and you can check them out!!

It has been a great week...just like I had hoped!!We really must learn to appreciate the simple things and not get caught up in all the hoopla!!!My week has been quite relaxing and I did all the things I had wanted to do. My Mom and Dad moved into their new house on Wednesday and they love it. My brothers are well. One is getting a new dog and the other just had a new baby girl, Caroline, on Tuesday. Weighing in at a small 11 lb baby (Can you believe that)!!!My kids had a realaxing week. Got all their stuff for school packed in the backpacks and got some new sneakers. We did not do a whole lot of fun stuff but they enjoy this cooler weeather so much and have played outside a lot this week. Many bike rides around the neighbourhood. They can't wait to ride over to their school tonight at 5:30 because our school is putting up the class lists early this year. So they will know tonite who their teachers are before Tuesday moring. Helps alleviate some stress for them - they worry a little about this each year. My husband and I had a wonderfully quiet week and plan to have a quiet weekend as well. My friends are coming over to crop tonight and then we have a big football for our son on Saturday so that will be fun.The rest of Sunday and Monday we will work on finishing our garage before fall. I really wish I had taken before and after pics. it would have been nice to compare!! Our garage looks so clean and organized now!!Anyway, have a wonderful weekend and talk to you next week TTFN

Well...
I am pretty tired!!! I worked all weekend and it was a pretty emotional weekend. I had a patient that got some terrible news and the family was crushed!! They were such a loving family and it is very difficult to watch that . It is getting worse, the older I get, to watch that. Anyway, I did the best I could for them to help them adjust to this news and now i am not only physically exhausted but mentally as well. The good news is I now have 7 days off. And what I have decided to do is spend them wisely. Look at my own life and see where I take advantage of things and stop and appreciate those things instead of just assuming that they will be always be around.I am going to scrapbook for a little every day. I am in a daily scrapbook challenge to create something everyday for the next week. So i will enjoy this immensely.I am trying for a design team and will finish that project and send it off this week as well.This is the last week before the kids go back to school, so I am going to do some fun things with them before all the rush of school starts.I am definitely going to appreciate my husband more this week. He is my rock and I believe we caught up in the daily goings on of life and forget where we started and why. I need to remember that on a daily basis and not take him for granted. I love him so much and never want to assume he will always be there. I am going to call my Mom and Dad more this week. I do call them a lot but this week I will have deeper conversations with them.I am definitely going to call my brothers this week. It seems like forever that I have spoken with them!!!It sounds like I am going to have a busy week...So I had better get to it.TTFN

THE BIG SALE
Last night was wonderful with the girls over. To be honest we did not get many pages done..there was a lot of conversation though. Great conversation!!! We all do get along very well. So great to have some girlfriends to bounce things off. Gives you a sense of empowerment. That you are not alone and there are people out there who feel the same way as you sometimes. It is great to have these girls in my life!!!I am off to the Scrapping Bug today for their annual Summer sale...Can't wait!!! Should be a lot of fun. Working on an admission for a design team and need to get a few things for that, so off I go to shopping. God, life is good!!!!!TTFN

Cropping tonight...
Well, my girlfriends are coming over tonight to crop. Sheri, Janet, and Judy S are all coming around 7 P.M. I am so excited. I feel a great sense of anticipation when I am going to be with my girls for a little female bonding time.But what that also means is that I must do some cleaning before they get here. So where is that bottle of Mr. Clean anyway!!!

Hello there.Well I finally took the plunge and started a blog. I really hope this is a way for me to document all the things (or most) that I need to journal. All my close scrapbook friends know that I write this all in a book but now perhaps I can blog it and my memories will be preserved. Over the next days, weeks, months, I hope to share things with you about my wonderful life. It is simple, but it is rich in so many ways!!!
